Each component of The Learning Philanthropy Framework has a spectrum of maturity - from ‘not yet engaging’ to ‘thriving’ - that describes what that practice looks like in action. By mapping your current learning habits against this spectrum, you can clearly see your existing strengths and target where your organization can grow next. 

The Maturity Tool can be adapted for use across the entire foundation, within a single team or initiative, or by learning leaders and champions. 

You can use The Maturity Tool to:

• Design your learning strategy: self-assess your current stage, set clear aspirational targets, and identify the actions to bridge the gap. 
• Put your strategy into action: translate those learning aspirations into everyday activities by referencing the observable practices outlined at each stage of maturity.
• Advance a specific learning practice: isolate and refine one or two priority areas, such as pairing robust evidence curation with sharper, collective sensemaking.
• Establish an organizational baseline: evaluate your foundation across all six segments of The Learning Philanthropy Framework. Use these insights to diagnose root causes of persistent challenges or to track your progress from this baseline.
